Size, along with color, is the question we are asked most often before a purchase. That's understandable: a Kabyle dress is often worn for several hours at a time, sometimes while dancing, and comfort is as important as appearance. Here's how to choose your size without stress.
Why your usual size isn't always enough
S/M/L/XL sizes exist in both classic ready-to-wear and traditional dresses, but the cuts are not the same. A Kabyle dress is often looser at the bust and skirt, while the waist is cinched by a matching belt rather than the seam itself. Relying solely on your "usual" size can therefore lead to a bad choice: it's better to take your own measurements and compare them to a precise chart.
How to take your measurements correctly
Three measurements are sufficient, to be taken with a flexible tape measure, if possible with the help of a second person for more accuracy:
- Bust circumference: measure at the fullest part of the bust, with the tape flat, without tightening.
- Waist circumference: measure at the narrowest part of the waist, usually just above the navel.
- Hip circumference: measure at the widest part of the hips and buttocks.

If your measurements fall between two sizes, choose the larger size: the wide matching belt, present on most of our models, then allows you to adjust the fit to your body shape.

- If in doubt between two sizes, always take the larger one: a slightly loose dress can be adjusted with the belt, a dress that is too small cannot.
- Consider the occasion: for a wedding dress worn all evening, a little ease is more comfortable than a very fitted cut.
